Took a chance on this one since I do not have a juicer. I have a blender and thought I would give it a shot.
This book, Juice: Recipes for Juicing, Cleansing, and Living Well, has so much more in it than recipes for juicing. It has recipes for life. It starts out with the stories of those that started the company and wrote the book. How they got into juicing and how it changed their lives.
They go on to explain what’s in your juice and what’s not, and why they are important. They even share how to get your bodies pH balanced.
They give great details for what to look for when choosing a juicer, stocking your pantry, storing your produce, and some amazing juice boosters.
When they get into the recipes…they are much simpler than I expected. When reading the section on green drinks I couldn’t help but wonder how you could swallow one of them. Kale in a drink, really? Sorry I am not one to adventure much with food…or drink. But I did and…I liked it. My husband however, cannot understand my insistence on putting Avocado in every smoothie now:) And kale.
This book has sections on Greens, Roots, Citrus, sweets and milk. It is much more in depth than I am willing to venture right now though when I get there I will be very happy I have this amazing reference to consult with.
